At Layerbit, we value your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This policy outlines our data practices for all visitors using our utilities, and explains exactly what happens to the information you type into our tools.
Every tool on Layerbit is clearly badged as either Local or Cloud API on the homepage. Local tools — including the JSON Validator, SQL Formatter, JWT Decoder, QR/Barcode Generator, Base64 Encoder, JSON Table Viewer, Text Diff Checker, CSV to JSON Converter, YAML ↔ JSON Converter, Cron Generator, URL Encoder, Log Analyzer, Regex Tester, and HTML Escape/Unescape utility — run entirely inside your browser using client-side JavaScript. The text, code, or files you paste into these tools never leave your device and are never transmitted to Layerbit or any third party. Cloud API tools — Insight, the Malicious URL Scanner, BreachAlert, and LayerLink — necessarily send specific data (such as a URL to scan, an email to check against breach databases, or session metadata for screen sharing) to a backend service in order to function, and only that specific data is transmitted.
We collect minimal personal information, such as email addresses, only when you contact us directly through our contact form, email, or WhatsApp. We use industry-standard tools like Google Analytics and AdSense to collect non-personal data (IP address, browser type, device type, and general geographic region) to improve site performance and serve relevant advertisements. The homepage's live "Sessions" counter is powered by Google Firebase and only records an anonymous visit tally — it does not store any information that identifies you individually.
Because most of our tools are browser-based, sensitive technical data you input — such as JWT payloads, SQL queries, JSON logs, or configuration files — remains local to your device and is never written to a database on our end. For the limited data we do collect (contact form submissions, analytics), we implement industry-standard security measures including HTTPS/SSL encryption on every page to prevent unauthorized access, interception, or disclosure in transit.
Layerbit integrates a small number of third-party services to operate: Google AdSense and Google Analytics for advertising and traffic analysis, Google Firebase Realtime Database for the anonymous visitor counter, and, for our Cloud API tools specifically, Google Safe Browsing and VirusTotal (malicious URL scanning) and breach-lookup APIs (BreachAlert). Each of these providers maintains its own privacy policy governing the data it processes on our behalf, and we encourage you to review Google's Privacy & Terms if you have concerns about AdSense or Analytics data handling.
Layerbit uses cookies to enhance user experience and serve personalized ads via Google AdSense. These third-party vendors may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to our website or other websites. You can opt-out of personalized advertising at any time by visiting Google's Ad Settings page, or by disabling cookies entirely in your browser settings — doing so will not affect your ability to use any of Layerbit's developer tools.
Layerbit is a developer-focused platform and is not directed at, nor knowingly used to collect data from, children under the age of 13. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child, we will take steps to delete it promptly.
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our tools, legal requirements, or third-party integrations. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date, and continued use of Layerbit after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
